lifeguard training courses
At Melbourn Sports Centre we offer a comprehensive national pool lifeguard course led by experienced instructors. This is an ideal course for anyone wanting to enter the leisure industry or for students wanting to pay their way through college or university.
(Please note that A.E.D or EFAW training is not included in this course).

2023 Courses
National Pool Lifeguard Certficiate (Excludes EFAW and AED elements)
Price: £200 per course
Dates: TBC but please email graham@mc-sport.co.uk for more details (Please note all dates must be attended fully before we can present you for your assessment)
Exam: TBC (This will be confirmed during the course, but we will make sure all candidates are able to make the date that we choose)

Lifeguards benefit from varied working hours which you can easily fit around your other commitments e.g. College or University courses They also work within a team with good opportunities to progress your career within the leisure industry as most leisure managers start off as Pool Lifeguards - Must be aged 16 years or above.
- Copy of ‘The Lifeguard’ manual & NPLQ 9th Generation training
- One independent assessment and assessment form
- Tea/coffee & biscuits provided (no lunch)
